Camera 2: The view from this camera is of the same characters and also gives you a view of the Royal GorgeBridge. We are fortunate to have the view of this wonderful manmade structure from our house. You will also see from time to time our herd sires. Our boys are stationed right next door to our ladies, and have many challenges to pecking order of who is the most dominant male. This exchange of neck wrestling, leg biting, and chasing is really harmless. We trim the boys fighting teeth when we shear, on a yearly basis. The running and fighting is over when its feeding time and everything is back to normal.
Camera 4- Boy does this have a cast of characters, first is Cal. He is our llama and protector of our herd. We are prone to coyotes, but are well fenced and safe. Still Cal is a wonderful asset to our herd. Next is Pacco he is the father of national champion Avatar. We sold Avatar to Delphi Alpacas when he was just 6 months old. They have done a wonderful job of promotion. Next is Coca Mocka he was also one of our original herd. He is bay black, and he has sired crias of every color. Next is Jetti, a true black, he has also given us rosegray, medium brown and silvergray. Next is Nostradamas he is dark brown, and has sired a true black cria. We have sold this cria at 6 months. In this backdrop we also have 3 nubian goats, named DiVinci, Sweetpea, Poppi. Enjoy the constant action between these creatures. You will notice a lot of activity between the males as they try to impress the females next door. Do not worry, we reduce the fighting teeth each year when we shear. This reduces the conflict to neck wrestlng, and leg wrestling. Harmless but important to learning how to be a dominant apaca.
